Why am I doing this?
I always loved storytelling. I also enjoyed bantering as much as deep diving into philosophical and spiritual conversations. But these activities would only informally happen in person with close friends.
Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to interact with friends in this way for the last few years; I got married, moved to the United States, and became a parent. Not only was my physical location far from my close friends but I was suddenly burdened with responsibilities.
With my best effort, I tried catching up with friends over Zoom, but I experienced how difficult it was to set up a meeting in a different time zone. I also learned that being a distance away, life is vastly different, so the quality of conversation wasn’t on par with my expectation.
Nevertheless, I still miss the conversations that I had.
Since I can’t keep up with everyone, I decided to send out weekly newsletters to share what I’m up to, and hopefully, you get a kick out of reading about my life.
So here we are.
I named it “The Millennial” because a) I’m a millennial and b) I’m hoping that my point of view can be relatable not just to close friends but to other millennials.
I humbly invite you to the stories of my adventures.
Sincerely,
Seongwon.
Thanks Han. I look forward to reading your weekly updates. Maybe I should be proactive and do the same :-) I share your thoughts and feelings regarding responsibility and conversation blockages.
